Back

You do not have to live with it.

Up to 85 per cent of people are affected by back pain at some time in their lives, leading to approximately 8 million lost working days a year in the UK alone – it is the most frequent cause of days lost from work apart from the common cold.
Poor posture, incorrect lifting technique, overuse, trauma and prolonged sitting can all contribute to back pain. Age, gender and genetics can also influence the risk. Back pain is rarely a symptom of a tumour or infection.

Chiropractic care, together with improved posture and exercises specific to the area, can help ease the pain.

Seek emergency medical help if you are experiencing the sudden onset of:

• Bowel or bladder incontinence
• Difficulty passing urine or feeling a need to, when there is none
• Losing function in both legs
• Numbness around the anus
• Numbness or tingling in the genitals or buttock or a loss of sensation during intercourse
